Can we clear this up?
« on: April 11, 2008 07:12 am CDT »
Being a pk candidate doesnt mean that if i have alternate characters i have to play as if im a pk on that character too. Jailhouse is separate from any other characters i have, if i break a rule on another character jail him.......or jail me if i break a rule on jailhouse, but im not going to. Every character i have is different and has the choice to obey or break rules, jailhouse cant be held responsible for a rule violation by one of his alter ego's :) Thanks, thats all i had to say.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever seen (or at least this week)..  plus that doesn't show very good character as a future peacekeeper.

If you look in the doghouse, it is used as player history, not character history.  That's why people such as little'd are held responsible for their actions on previous characters.

No.  As a Pk candidate, You as a person, are expected to uphold the server's rules. Not just your character.
You are the one auditioning for the role of a PK. Not your "character".
So it does not matter which character you happen to be in the server with. It's still you behind the actions of the character.

That is a very good question.  Your PK pw will work on any character you have in the server at anytime.  Thats the way the system works.

I will tell you now that your characters gameplay and your characters reputation directly reflects on the quality and reputation of this server. You specifically stated in your audition or request to be considered for a position several points that included your distaste of the actions of a respected and qualified Peacekeeper.  Your statements led the Administration to believe that you were wanting to set a competitive example of good gameplay and uphold the standards, rules, regulations and reputation on this specific server.

Yet now you are complaining that you cannot use a different character to create the havoc you have promised to prevent.

Killing, mugging, stealing, pickpocketing, abusing afk players are all legal and there is nothing to prevent you from doing those things on another character. you can be as asshatted as you want to be as long as it is within the rules.

If you really want to pursue this course of breaking the rules to satisfy some need to be a bad boy or if it is some sick twisted form of enjoyment that you get by behaving in such disdain for the establishment, maybe you should reconsider your application of the position.

When you are granted the position of PeaceKeeper, you are beginning a long and difficult training that should eventually lead to you being an Admin.  That is the whole point of having the trials and the training.  We want to pick the very best candidates we can find to help us keep the server safe for everyone.  That does not always happen and you can read the forums.

There has been a great amount of time, energy, ideas, programming, modding, and money invested in this server to keep it up and running.  I would hope that you would take your position a little more serious, and take our friendship a little more serious as well.

I will not play favorites and i will not pansyfoot around the point.  If you find you cannot apply the values we have come to expect to your game play, then withdraw and resign.  I will not be happy about it but I will live.

think about it...

the only reason i even posted this is not because i plan on breaking rules as a pk. Someone was afk in lair this morning and i was on as my other player. I sat in lair and watched him not moving and i asked if he was there and got no response so i took a battle ring  then when i was taking his sword he turned and looked at me so i gave the sword back and kept the battle ring, because i took that when he wasnt responding. hes RL0. hes not a new player because he knew it was me. Anyway he tried arguin that he wasnt afk blah blah. I posted this because im sure he would go ratting and trying to make me look like a bad pk candidate. I dont expect any favoritism arf, pick who is gonna be best.

My first question to you Jailhouse is What is the purpose of a peace keeper to you?
The main question everyone ask me is what do you look for when you evaluate a peace keeper.

1. Honesty
2. Keeps the server orderly.
3. Fairness
4. Good sound judgments.

The second question is What is expected of a peace keeper.
So my code of conduct for a peace keeper is
1. That as a peace keeper one should uphold the rules as a player not character, at all times.
2. Peace keeper should make the same judgment calls for all players (whether it be his/her friends, family members, or enemy)

People make mistakes all the time. I have seen many and made many in the past. The guy did not answer your request so you thought he was afk took the ring. He came back when you were mugging the second. You did the honest thing by returning the second item taken.

I am not saying that by being a peace keeper that you have to be an angel as a player.  I do however expect you to stay within the rules as a player and not break them.

I think you took my remarks as some sort of criticism or worse , that was not my intention and i apologize if it seemed that way.  I was only stating my opinion and expectations.  I think you have done a fine job as a pk candidate and I have the utmost respect for you as a player and a friend.  Now to your game play.

This is what i would expect. Your actions were totally within the scope of the rules that were made.  I do not see any problem with your actions.  I am even impressed that you gave the items back.  That was not necessary but you went beyond the minimum and made a very good decision.  This is the type of game play that we expect and enjoy.  Afkers do so at their own peril, and pretending to be afk = afk, your decision was fair.

When i was talking about favoritism, i wasnt speaking about favoritism towards any pk's or pk candidates, i was referring to my relationships and dealings with other members of the server community.  As far as favorites in the PK trials i have none. I hate you all equally

Jailhouse just proved that he is inable to be a 'decent' peacekeeper.  Don't give the PK, if you do, he's going to fork up within minutes.
