I'm making a game

I don't want you guys to jerk my ego, but I thought it'd be cool to tell you guys that my debate partner and I are making a game as an experiment with Python.  He's doing most of the programming and I'm doing the web design, game design, and project coordination.  We also recruited another artist friend of ours to do the art work and a musician friend to do the music.

We're doing it in classic Zelda like 2D because we want older computers to play it.  Initially it was going to be a browser based MMO, and started on my birthday when we were arguing why Runescape sucks.  A lot of it started as a parody of Runescape, which is why the current name for it is Glyph.

Tell me what you guys think and what you'd think would be good features to have.

At best, we hope to add this to my friend's portfolio since he wants to be a game programmer.  We don't really expect this to take off, but we're planning for it just in case.  Mostly, it's for fun.

It's hard to read the design documents, but I think they cover some of the same ground I attempt to cover on paper some times.  It will be exciting to see how it goes. :-)

(I do a hell of a lot of on-paper design for games that will probably never be made.  It's more like an exercise in figuring out what system works well for my head at the time; I'd like an auto-adjusting system that determines my class based on what skills I use most, for example, so I write associated ideas and think about how it could or would not work on paper)

The design documents are meant to be hard to read.  I thought it'd be fun if people tried to piece together what we were thinking from that.
