Fusion requires imments amount of energy to actually work though.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

That is because we haven't discovered a way to conserve energy usage in fusion like we have in fission.

It isn't really known for sure which is stronger.. We can't get the full power ouf of fusion yet, so it is actually a hypothetical question.

However... A hydrogen bomb is pwnage.

There is no way one of these bombs could hurt the sun.. All the firepower on earth * 10 wouldn't phase the sun. except maybe give it sunburn. (haha)

We have no clue how powerful matter actually is..

I mean it took a german man who everyone thought was a loony to create the power we have today from matter.

Of course this is also the man who found out how much energy was actually in matter.

uhh Einstein?

lol DUH

hmm 10fold wouldnt hurt the sun?

we could multiply the amount we have on the earth by that much in about 2 months lol

Actually we might be able to make a bomb that disrupts the fusion of hydrogen and helium which will ultimately destroy the sun.

vorter, first you have to design a substance to coat the nukes with, otherwise once they get within x miles away, the sun's heat would cause one of two things 1) melt the bomb or 2) cause an early explosion.

and theoretically ozzy, it wouldn't take that much power, all you have to do is propel a "super-explosive" object into the suns core, detonate it, and in theory... the sun would destroy itself because the explosion would cause fusion to occur in the center of the sun and therefor all the hydrogen would become used in fusion and the sun would no longer have any hydrogren left to burn. *purely theoretical*

[edit]Jason posted about the 10 x thing while i was writing my post[/edit]

Yes.. but I am talking about launching from the outside.. and anyway.. the core of the sun is bigger than Jupiter. so even then, it would still take a lot.

why would you want to destroy the sun? and why should we bother talking about this anymore? honestly though.. why does man need a bigger weapon? on a dfiferent topic, jason (no harm intended, just trying to make you aware) imments is spelled immense.

Yes I see that now, I generally slap myself on the wrist if I make an error of any kind because in this day and age, you need to be fast and perfect when it comes to typing.  It's just that it's late and I'm on "medicine" for pain because I had a tympanoplasty a week ago.  It wasn't a true tympanoplasty as I still have all of the things inside my inner-ear.  All he did was patch up my eardrum.  And I still feel like malarkey.

Well we were just thinking and talking.  I like doing that, opens my mind and it makes you think.  Besides, what else is there that you want to talk about?

I wanna see a sun super nova I...  know how unpossible(that ones for u blade) that is

If your eyes havent melted out of their sockets yet, you may be able to actually witness a supernova of our sun, just as the PCRPG community launches nukes into the center of the sun.

we do because we are trying to prove that we can have intelligent conversations, which we usually can do but then you talk.
