Wouldn't a supernova engulf the earth?

I heard this is whatll happen,
Sun turns into supernova, eats the 3 closest planets, then gets bigger and bigger until it destroys everything

Hmm, not exactly.  It might just eat this galaxy (the milky way).

Razore.. the sun can't get bigger if it has a nova or supernova

A nova is when a star explodes.. a supernova is when a really large star explodes.

If our sun were to blow up at it's current size, it would be a nova..  THough it would pritty much destroy every planet up to jupiter.

Now the way theory has it. THe sun will expand into a red giant, destroying every planet up to the asteroid belt because it will be that big. THen it will shrink down again to a size up from what it is now. THen it will go up again to a super giant.. Then it will explode in a supernova.

After this.. 2 things could happen. If the core still survives the blast, it will just be a dead star..

If the core gets crushed with it's own gravity, then a black hole formes. Either way this whole solar system is forked.

Now this galaxy will live on prabably forever. Unless somehow a large enough black hole forms that sucks all matter into it.

Which if it were that big, it would prabably do the same to galaxies near us.

I seriously doubt it is.

ANd I would commit suicide if that was the case..

I really do hope there is more intelligent life in the universe that I could find one day..

And I wouldn't think twice about comming back to humans if I did.

Kinda funny to think that an explosion can "blow up" more, as in an explosion's explosion exploding.

Seems like I've said that before.

By the time our sun goes nova, we would have already explored vast amounts of space/time.  By then, we would have moved to different solar systems or even have our own self-sustaining terra-forming planets (courtesy of G.E.C.K. hehe Fallout rulez).

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

I suppose it would be easy enough to use the resources of this system to create enough energy to sustain a planet the size of earth... for a time.  Nukes-ahoy anybody?

I must agree with everyone else, by that time we will have moved to a different planet. At least I would hope, I heard that the Earth is moving in a dead zone where we are getting out of the safe zone of the sun where it's not too cold or too hot like all the other planets are in. Saw on discovery channel one night.
