hmmm thats only.... if war doesn't set our evolution back a couple million years.. kind of like the dark ages.. only a $hit load longer... or maybe we whipe our selves out.. and the world turns... into PLANET OF THE APES!

or like this one episode of outer limits... where a plauge whipes out all of the human males.. i hated that episode... although i did enjoy the lesbian espect of it...

Good point, we are getting to a point where terrorist are turning suicide and what's keeping them from just firing nuclear warheads and just killing the US and we doing the same and everyone getting in a big war with no regard to life? Sad sad thing.[/quote]

It really is sad to see people destroy lives for no reason simply because their religion* says they can and must.

*A thing or two about what I think religion mostly is to them:

Constantly being changed by the dictators that rule by them
Make the lives of civilians utter malarkey and then tell them that if they suicide bomb people, they will have all kinds of nice things when all they have to do is come to America

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

Well, it's a sign of good faith, but it's also a sign of a bad faith.

Me myself I'm confused about the whole religion thing. Either people are reading their religion wrong or they are just receiving the messages wrong. I just don't know.

if you had an idea jammed into your mind from infancy... wouldnt you carry that idea out to the fullest? these people are told that all non-believers of their religion are infidels, and dont deserve to live. hence, anyone who gets in their way must die, even if it means sacrificing themselves to do it. not only that, they believe that if they kill 'infidels' they will go to heaven for doing the 'right thing'.

its gotten to the point where peoples fanatacism about their religion is resulting in the deaths of other people. christianity teaches us that killing is wrong, same thing with catholocism, yet.. they bless the troops before they go off to war. anyone remember the spanish inquisition? where people were coerced into believing the teachings of catholocism, and if they rejected it, they were killed. how about the crusades? the jesuits? holy war, after holy war, after holy war. how long do you think we have before the marriage of church and state goes sour? how long will it be before religion is banned?

and then what? history has shown that humans need something to praise. we all have some need to pray to some deity. are we going to make the government our religion? the judges who preside over us will be our gods? then again.. i may just be ranting, and causing a ruckus all for nothing. these are just some things that have been milling around in my mind for some time now.

*sigh*  why must people without a religious belief be called an infidel?

george washington had no religion... and he was heavily involved in the military.

christianity condemns every last thing on earth, in 20 years, christianity will condemn christianity just because it will have nothing left to condemn.

Well, I don't know how Christinity can condemn itself but I know the point you're trying to make. It's trying to dominant every aspect of life. Is that what you mean?

well, i haven't chosen a religion, religion in my opinion is pointless because each and every religion says something bad about another and so its a giant chain of hatred.  religion has no place in my life and probably never will, which is part of why i believe in evolution rather than creation because i have no single person to believe created the world and i like it better that way.

There are possible hybrid explanations.  It's certainly your right not to practice a religion and express your opinion.  You do need to realize that the religions themselves rarely (or never) specify hatred toward others.  The people that practice the religion do that.  You think that Buddha would have wanted people to stick C4 in their turbans and blow up innocent people?  No!  Do you think that Jihad was meant to be an excuse for constant warfare?  No!  It was intended to be used to protect and defend, not offensively swipe at anybody who disagrees.  The leaders are corrupted--when they say something (and humans aren't perfect) then others follow.  Who's to say they're interpreting it correctly or not just using such things as excuses to get what they want?  What if they just use the religious element to get "drones" and don't really care about the religion at all.  Likewise, some Christians are just mean or don't understand.  It seems all religions think they're the one true way to worship.  If you sincerely believed that, you'd want to get other people to believe the way you do as well--to help/save them.  We've lost sight of the true roots of religion and the entire concept.  It is (generally) supposed to govern one's life... it's a code of ethics, a code of behavior, a code of duty and morals.  People don't go by what their religions state about such aspects of one's life (as a generalization--a majority) and these "strays" cause the problems associated with religion.

This is getting long, I better stop.

I have to agree with that almost 100%.. Especially the part about the leaders being corupt.

You shouldn't let corrupt leaders of religion represent your views toward that religion... Before judging you should learn the history, purpose, and beliefs.

For example, most ignorant Americans judge muslims unfairly.. due to recent events.

This country was founded on two things: meat and war.  You eat enough meat til you feel good enough to go and kill somebody.  A few years ago I sat in my chair and watched the war live on tv.  I was eating a 3 inch steak and had a 6 foot erection with a giant cheeseburger on the end of it.

ok this is going to sound bad but sorry:( . I understand why everyone hates people that blow them selves up in the name of a god. But you have to understand this is how they have been raised for generations they know no diffrent. Look at the wars they have fought! Gurrela tactics look at the crusaded they fought off from england.... look at the usa training them with the cia..... We (people) are as much to blaim for the massive destruction. As they are we just dont want to exept it. Because it is so much easyer to lay the blaim soley upon one country or persons.

When two remain, so does the war, one must fall for there to be a reckoning.
