The server seems to be bottoming out a bit, any fresh ideas on how we can revive it?

Adding Tokath back would be a start. The ability to have quests is good.
We have discussed adding to the zones and adding zones and new bots as well.

Yeah cody talked about brining tokath back a few months ago, he has to dig him out of storage. Some progression quests would be fun. As for advertisement thats a little bit more difficult, due to the game being so old.

Agree with shorty. Idiot proofing it would be a good idea as well as combining all the best add ons and scripts as well as a good set of instructions on how to use them.
Also agree with Arf, advertisement would be a good thing as well.

What we need before any advertisement or promotion are some content artists.  A completely new map, prefabs, and set of models are more or less a requirement to bring this mod up to a level where people would be likely to stay.  I'm up to pushing client-side content since it's not like there's anyone here who either wouldn't be able to grab the latest stuff on a fresh install or know that there is an update to use.

Does anyone know such people?  I wouldn't be opposed to funding commercial development to an extent if money is what it takes to entice people into contributing.
As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Starcraft's old, yet look how well it's doing :P. Anyhow, yeah, advertising and such would be good.

Speaking of installation, i forgot to tell you that my Antivirus picked up stuff in the extra tools folder (Quark, etc.) in that big pack with Tribes 1.30 and the Deus stuff and all that. We gotta get that cleared up before we start getting more people here.

Click on it.
My username in Tribes is now Serithi.

It really depends on what direction the mod should go in. As of now there are still some people that actively work on TRPG, but everyone has their own idea on how it should work. A collaberated project with some organization would be a key factor. Also on a side note -- Particle I think you may be able to help with this due to your extensive background in C++ coding. A random idea that I think would really help out this game would be to have a seperate application that could visualy represent your inventory, your armors/wears, a tidy skill window that would show skills in much more detail, shops, trade skills.. things like that. Maybe you guys have some ideas..

Particle if you want you can use the models I created for 1.40...since I seemed to have stalled out on really doing much more work.  I have most of them as 1.11 compatible versions (character models that is, dragon, horse, manned horse, bat, dog).  Also if anyone actually wants to know how to make custom player models for tribes, I could help them out a bit.

rj, most of that could actually be done using the tribes 1.11 gui editor, you know the old tree(); guiedit(); gunk (albeit it would be extremely difficult, but it would be possible)

Yes , Bov has already done the extensive research and bug squashing for player models which is going to be essential for an TRPG update. And as for the gui yeah im sure tribes in game could do it , but without source access it would prove more difficult than necessary. A c++ app could potentially get some very nice gui's just to help keep your character organized. I've already put this into practice using VB and tribes built-in telnet, but would rather go with something a little easier and more flexible.

I donated some nice models a while back. These included daemons and angels. They were ones from the 40k mod and fit in nicely in case wanna add them in. They are already tested.
