day, what kind of machines do you guys use for ultrasound? acuson/siemens, hp/atl/phillips, or GE? and what did you guys pay for it? i work for an ultrasound refurb company, and we can get you pretty much anything for a good price.
ultrasound is most commonly used for pregnancies, just to see how the baby looks, any deformities, what gender it is, etc. they now have 3d and 4d ultrasound, wherein a computer is used to render the image in 3d or 4d(live 3d) on the monitor, instead of just a 2d image.
you can study just about anything on your body with the right transducer (probe). carotid, heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, testicles, breast, etc. i think im going to take some scans of my heart or kidneys, or maybe even my liver and post them. if you guys want to learn more about ultrasound try
http://www.acuson.com (which appears to be down, damnit). or try out
http://www.gemedicalsystems.com and look under diagnostic imaging/ultrasound. some of the logiq machines are pretty fancy looking.
malarkey, sorry ken, i wrote a small essay again.
