The only thing that really pissed me off though, was that morphing tool thing, people always stole my appearence, which was total kick ass. =\

Other than those lamers, the game was awesome, and you could just beat down anyone you felt like.

You know what the best part was though? Book of Meditation :D
I used to just float on the middle of that main bridge, you know, where that dance club and stuff was under it. (I think)

Yeah, but RO had over 30 servers world wide for 2 years.. each of these servers had around 12k on them.

If they can afford that.. Something is up. Why p2p now? They are just in it for the money.. those servers probably are costing them next to nothing.

Maybe those Korean dudes were getting huge bucks selling nuclear arms. =X

So they used that beta time to build a large customer base, so they can build more nuclear arms, and put up more games. =X

It's an endless cycle..

Well I mean, of course you think it's a rip off, but you have to understand, that running the servers, putting up new servers, maintenance, updates, and hiring staff people all cost money, and just selling the game isn't going to cut it, because in order to keep everything up, you'd have to constantly bring in thousands of new players, and only SO many people can get the games.

And anyways, what's the average rate for a game anyways? $9? I'll round it up to at least $10.

That means all you have to do, is once a month, mow ONE person's yard. That's really not that much, if you guys would get your asses off the computer every once in a while.

But, I don't think I'd ever pay a monthly fee for a game, cept maybe Graal. :D

Then you have to understand the type of income they're talking.  Green green, and more green.

Take EQ for example. 400,000 members who each pay 10$ a month equals $4,000,000 a month for SOE easy.  So tell me now why just for servers it would cost nearly 4 million a month.  Remember that game developers make their money from making the initial sale, so that already means that with 50$ for each everquest, (not to mention the what, 10 expansion packs?) would make for $20,000,000 on the game being sold alone.  These people are just greedy bastards and you should see the light as well.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

Corporate America. Do you all feel that everything electronic should be free. Me I think most stuff should cost something. At least sell it at a decent price to keep yourself in house and food. But I must admit alot of this stuff is a rip off. Microsoft stuff. That's why I'm switching over to Linux. Debating between SuSe and RedHat but I'm going linux and can't wait til I start paying for my own ISP then I can get off this forsaken AOL. My Dad thinks it's just the best thing in the world. He just doesn't have my level of computer knowledge. Sad sad thing.
