I do think there should be a character clear, but here's the thing.
You really shouldn't trust the opinions of low-remorts, like myself. I am only RL.24, but I know that if I worked up to god or some other high remort, I would be somewhat distressed at the loss of my character.
However, there are way too many gods around. Everyone knows that this is true. Some grumble and complain, but nobody can disavow the fact that gods are becoming over-populated. It's difficult for some people to level without watching your back for some god, or making sure you don't piss off the wrong people.
Here's my suggestion. Wipe the server clean. Destroy absolutely everybody's character. But, two things. We'll need some way of keeping names. I just know that there'll be some ass reserving everyone's name. Another thing, I really think that the remort requirement for god should be higher. I don't think that a god requirement of RL.200 is out of the question. There's something else that came to me, too. I think that it would be a great idea if, instead of a higher remort requirement, peopl RL.100 and above have to be verified to be able to pass the L.174 block. People that the admins are sure would not go on killing sprees or wreak random havoc. I personally like this idea, but it's obviously open to suggestion.
Anyway, I've been rambling for too long. I voted 'yes', by the way.
Oh, another thing. I think that a character clear should be put to a debate, not a vote.
