Yeah, the basic concept of parry is when you use your sword to block someone elses.

However, I have seen it attempted by y0shi where you swing as your enemy swings.. With Tribes' netcode, this is almost impossible ot pull off.

My system isa bit different..

You must have a 1-handed weapon, and you must also have a parrying weapon.. like a rapier/main gauche combo.

It is based off the fact that it greatly increases your dodging, while you take 2-3 times as muxh damage if you get hit.. Also, you hit 2-3 times more often while in parry mode..

The more mosters you have on you at 1 time, the more of a chance you have of getting hit..

It is a bit more complicated than that, but that is the basic idea.

Huh, my fps gets cut down like 2/3 when I look at keldrin(town) from long distances, I've got a 2ghz amd with 1gb of ram and a 128mb radeon 8500 that handles every other game with no issues.

Keldrin town is a resource mystery to me, anyone else get this?

To the new prefabs. Might I suggest an "Island of the Gods"

It'd be a place you'de have to fly to, you know a floating island, and transport would only get you under it, or only work for gods.. The island would feature a place to fight monsters of random massive ridiculous power, and an arena for the gods to fight eachother.

Just something thats been floating around in my mind.

Centuria, K-town, the mines, yolanda, and the mage tower are all in the same general area--that's a lot of geometry for such an ancient engine.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Ah, true. While my system can handle it, the tribes engine wasn't made for it.

We won't have gods for a while, this'll make for an even more mysterious new area, as no one will be able to see it untill they are a god.

lots of cool ideas... how about a gambling system lol... gods go into the arenas and fight (somehow without losing lck and without gaining exp) they fight for prizes and other ppl can gamble on them with money or items.  The odds are based on the gods remort levels and current lvls.  Also gods can fight monsters of various levels and ppl could gamble on it... it would add an entirely new aspect to the game adding a certain element of chance... but then i just remember ppl might purposly throw the game when someone puts 100 bil on thier oponent and they split the prize... it would take some thinking to fix some of this but wth im just ranting.

If you have 2 gods fighting, no one will win..  haven't you seen god fights on the server currently?  You hit them and it either doesn't do much dmg at all or they regen it before you can swing again..

Yeah, not many people on anymore.  If they're going to leave at the mention of a clear character than fork them--let 'em.  We'll get new players again.  For the ones moving to other servers, you do realize I clear less often than any other server and you'll be starting from scratch on some laggier server without the community found here-right?

Part, I have spent years playing this game. I am 16, turning 17 in a few months. I don't want to continue to spend all this time on a game. That is why I am going/gone. Without something to come back to, why come back?

Why come back? People come back to play the game, and have fun..  they don't come back just because they have a god character.  (Well, the ones who enjoy an RPG for what it is at least..)

If you don't want to play the game anymore, thats cool..  an understandable reason ;)
