Transparent Backgrounds
« on: June 5, 2003 09:30 pm CDT »
Well, I am a total moron at any type of imaging other than MS Paint. I'm looking at my avatar, and it looks really stupid with the black background, considering the colour scheme of these forums...

So, uh, what's the easiest way to get the background transparent? It's easy in Photoshop, but I don't have a home copy of it, so... arrgh.

Cut and paste the guy in the image onto a new picture w/ a tranparent background and save the file as gif

PNG's are supposed to have transparency and full color range.  However, I made one recently that didn't turn out.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Gah... I think I got it, but stupid PictureTrail automatically changes all pictures to JPEGs. Stupid PictureTrail. I'll have to see if Particle will host my new avatar.

Of course he will.  :P
