Syntax Question

Morning...

 I play cs, (beta 3 vet). When i'm in mid-game and feel like switching servers i hit the tilde key (~) which brings down the 'console'.
Then i type 'connect' followed by the server ip i wish to connect to.  The key syntax word here is 'connect'.
 Tribes has a console as well. Same key (tilde(~)) brings down a white-letter console with a % prompt (unlike cs, where there's no prompt at all).
However, typing 'connect' *Particles'ip#here* doesn't work (didn't think it would).
 Therefore my question(s) is/are:
 i) is it feasable to 'console connect'?
ii) if so how?

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
