they have decent cars in autotrader. and seriously for your first car, dont get a sports car and dont buy it from a dealer/lease it.  You're probably not old enough to lease a car but still. Save up like 2 grand and buy a 94 civic or something.

my roomate bought his car for 200 and sold it to me for 500 (because they engine was rebuilt and he added some things) and it's an 89 mazda. it still runs perfect. In fact it made it accross the US without one single problem. So for a first car that you're probably going to wreck a few times I would get a malarkeyty little car. and then go for the more expensive when you have a steady job and can afford the 300 dollar a month insurance for an eclipse

Or just move to a state that doesn't rape you for insurance, heh. In BC Canada, basic liability insurance can only be purchased through the government (ICBC) and they don't use factors like your age, gender, marital status, or whether your car is a sports car or not, when determining your basic liability cost.

As far as I know, they only care about your location (it'll cost more in a city), how often/how far you plan to drive (pleasure use only, or daily for work?) and how long you've been driving (everyone, teenagers included, start off at the same spot on the "claim-rated scale" and you get a discount for every year of safe driving after that)

BC can't be the only place that does this... lol

Why Korea?

And yeah, the system we have kicks ass. I ended up paying about $70 USD per month for insurance when I first started driving... (teenager, male, not married, no driving experience, in a large city, for work use)

In contrast, one of my friends from California was paying ~$400 USD/month for his first insured car... heh.

I agree..  there are so many messed up systems like that in the U.S.  Personally I think the majority of the education system is rediculous as well..  we should be on some kind of co-op system so you can figure out what you want to do for a career more easily.  I know sooo many people who have switched majors in college like 2 or 3 times, since they don't have any real-word experience in the things they think they are interested in.

Isn't that how the education system is in Germany?  I know it's like that in many places in Europe..  I guess it's not like a co-op, but I can't seem to find the word I'm looking for..  like where after you do the basic stuff you start doing things more job-specific.  Then if you want to continue school you go on to "Higher Learning" (I think that's what they call it).  I think that would be a much better system than we have here in the U.S..

Wow, that sounds so awesome.. Man, American companies are always out to make as much money as possible, even if they're putting their customers in the poor house..  :?

Lastwish, we kinda have some Highschool's like that in Charlotte, NC. There's this one highschool down the road called "Barry Academy" it's like a Technical Highschool where you basically take classes that only relate to your future career.. I'm going into my senior year and I really regret not going there. So many of the classes I've taken in Highshool are such a drag and I'm pretty sure I'll never use the information I learned in them ever again. (I'm sure I can expect more of this at a University =\ )

I agree somewhat with Aeolian on the RX-7--Stock it was still a great car.
The RX-8 is really a great car to drive though! Took one out on a test drive and the handling was by far greater than the RX-7. And of course The interior is much better with better enhancements in the guages!
